& Giving Opportunities
The
Georgia Center for Children volunteer opportunities
range from participating in special event activities, to volunteering
professional services, coordinating donation drives, to providing
in-house volunteer services.

Special
Events
The
Blue Knights – A Knight for Kids
Every year, Chapter 7 of the Georgia Blue Knights, a law enforcement
club of motorcycle enthusiasts, hosts a fun benefit where they raffle
off three Harley Davidson Motorcycles to support the Center. This
blue jean and leather dinner and dance have over 2000 participants.
Volunteers are needed to help with set-up, to serve food and beverages,
and to close the event. Volunteers are welcome any length of time
between 1:00 p.m. to the close of the event.
Atlanta
Charity Clays Tournament
The Center will be a beneficiary of the Atlanta Charity Clays Tournament,
an event of shooting and off-road driving at Little Creek Farm.
The GCC Volunteers are needed to help all three days of the event.

Annual
Playhouse Raffle
The Georgia Center for Children annually host a playhouse raffle.
In 2004 and 2005 the Center was chosen as the sole beneficiary of
Phipps Plaza Teeny Tiny Tour of Homes and The Teeny Tiny Holiday
Homes respectively. The Center will need volunteers to sell raffle
at the decide location when the dates and times are determined.
Cheer
for Children – A Wine Tasting & Auction to Benefit
the Center
The Center hosts an elegant wine tasting and auction benefit for
over 400 patrons annually. Volunteers are needed to help with our
major fundraising event in the planning stages on various committees,
and on the day of the event to help with set-up, the event logistics,
and to close out the event. Volunteers are requested to attend a
training session a week prior to the event date.
PGA
TOUR Championship
The Center will partner with Prom Catering to staff concession stands
at the PGA Tour Championship held at East Lake Golf Course. Volunteers
are needed to help sell beverages and food to spectators all four
days of the tournament. The six hours shifts may begin as early
as 7:00 a.m. from various times between 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Volunteer
can participate as many days as they choose. This is a great opportunity
to meet international professional golfers, enjoy a day at one of
Atlanta’s exclusive golf clubs, and help the Center raise
money to support our programs.

Intake
Coordinator Assistant
The objective is to assist in entering client information into the
Center’s case tracking database. 3 hours per week for at least
12 weeks.
Waiting
Room Assistant
To enhance the warm reception abused children get when they visit
GCC. 3 hours per week for at least 12 weeks |
Office
Assistant and Outreach Coordinator
Objective is to increase the productivity and efficiency of the
administrative department and create community awareness of GCC
services. 3 hours per week for at least 12 weeks.

The objective is to assist the Volunteer Manager with the goal of
improving the current volunteer program. 3 hours per week for at
least 12 weeks. |
